Brand Identity design
Meridian Foods near Winchester is a long-established manufacturer of organic, natural and free-from foods with a strong presence in health food shops and limited listing on the high street. Branding and packaging were expressed in a fragmented fashion.
Following an MBO, pmdc was briefed to review both branding and packaging design that would achieve increased sales in the multiples while reassuring the core market.
What we did
Our brand identity design dispenses with the ubiquitous leaf motif that characterizes the sector, focusing instead on a distinctive figure that personifies a feeling of health and well-being and embodies the brand’s natural, healthy and ethical values.
The design has maximized shelf-presence, creating a unified range of 70+ products that are immediately identifiable as Meridian.
What happened next
The brand’s position within its core market has been strengthened, increased presence achieved in Tesco and new listings gained in Sainsburys, Morrisons, Booths and Holland and Barrett.
