Martin Sewell Builders near Arundel was a well-established, family-owned business, working in Sussex since 1985, with a healthy reputation for high quality workmanship, fair and professional dealings and reliability.
Thriving on its reputation within an existing client base, the company found itself less competitive when pitching for work where there was no previous relationship, losing out on cost for smaller projects and no considered a serious contender for larger ones.
Following a referral from the Design Council and a successful credentials presentation, pmdc was invited to define an authentic brand for Martin Sewell Builders and raise the profile of the company among local architects and prospective clients.
What we did
We recommended a subtle evolution of the company name to The Martin Sewell Building Company in order to better convey the real size and nature of the business. A strong and distinctive brand identity was established by the characterful illustration of a home, nestling in the South Downs. Together, they define and display the company’s key characteristics.
